Avelon dev here - thanks! Really enjoy Memmy as well, pretty impressive what you guys are able to do with React Native.
It's very cool to see so much enthusiasm in the dev community. Lemmy can definitely be a place where lots of different apps & frontends can thrive to suit just about everyone.

I really prefer native apps, it's usually way easier to get solid performance and top notch OS integration. Of course it limits the number of devices it can run on, but that's the price you pay. I don't think Avelon would have worked nearly as well as a PWA.
It should block NSFW by default, perhaps its your instance or account settings?
I don't think this is allowed by Apple, think I heard some reddit devs talking about this a couple years ago. If Lemmy itself gets more finegrained NSFW-settings I could definitely look at integrating it tho

I've heard about this reply crash several times but haven't been able to reproduce it, if it's an iOS 17 issue that makes sense! I'm not on the beta yet myself
In Apollo there was a setting that allowed you to swipe to go back from anywhere, not just from the edge of the screen. Super nice if you have a large phone since you don't have to stretch your fingers as much.

The app is written natively for iOS, so an android version is not possible unfortunately.
