In the past it was to shift the blame from the boss to the manager so the working class wouldn't blame those at the top but the middle man. And present day it's an even more useless role where people are pressured to overwork themselves just to keep their job and this allows the companies to avoid paying overtime.

Giusto ieri sentivo dei colleghi sui 50-60 parlare di questa cosa totalmente, non riuscivano proprio a immedesimarsi nella prospettiva di noi giovani. Dicevano di essere cresciuti con l'idea di doversi sacrificare il più possibile con l'obiettivo di arrivare a prendere più soldi possibile in qualsiasi modo. Ho avuto l'impressione che non sapessero neanche come "mollare la presa" in un certo senso. Ammetto che mi ha fatto tristezza.

I use it for help with formal language sometimes, but I do not trust it and would never try to pass off a whole generated text as mine. I always review it and try to make it sound my own.
