100% this. You could only print black and white on that printer and you would still be low on cyan.

I think, the fact that people have fruit at home, bananas even, and don't eat them. Is a sign that mammalian brain is working. A banana is basically sugar, and your body's like... I'm good on sugar thanks.

Don't blame the delicious meat patty, wholesome cheese slice, immaculate bacon, and impeachable runny egg for the damage the bun and fries do!

Burying a body with friends isn't hard, or even uncommon. Getting them to never talk about it .. that's hard

The side with the power button is now the top. There is no ports or io on the bottom.

Just from a game theory perspective, a distributed group of people who are unorganized are unable to get their concerns addressed properly when it comes time to writing tax laws.

The rich and powerful, by virtue of being rich and powerful, have a voice in writing the tax laws. The distributed poor, do not. So it's much easier to satisfy income goals by taxing the group who has no feedback loop to the politicians

Heat soak. A laptop may be expected to run 24/7. The larger bricks can dissipate the heat. A GaN charger can do it as well, but most of them have a heat soak point where they stop delivering full power

[-] jet@hackertalks.com 1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Really well written. The USB power delivery specification allows devices to negotiate different voltages. That's why if you have a device of multiple ports, and you plug in a new device to charge, all of the devices stopped charging for a moment will they negotiate again.

I'll add, a lot of the phone chargers cannot sustain their maximum power output all day. They're going to soak in heat, the large bricks are also a function of heat dissipation anticipating 24/7 usage

The general topic was about self-hosting. IPv6 is very useful for self-hosting,.. connections.

I'll admit there is a critical mass problem with torrenting clients, but if you're trying to set up a wire guard tunnel with your friends, IPv6 is a absolute banger

Pretty good...

Matt Mitchell made a breakout YouTube channel that is also excellent https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRAoLjIeDYFOSuXFImfecqg

Some loyalty programs high status will give you 24 hours in a room, any 24 hours you want...

But you would be spending crazy money to get that status anyway, cheaper to just book two nights when you want more time in the room.

In most environments ipv6 bypasses cgnat (because, why would you need a nat with ipv6).

Concord is very polished. But it still seems fairly contained, a bunch of heroes, a handful of maps. Where did the 8 years go?

Firewalk studios has 169 employees as far as i can tell.

They use unreal engine, no single player campaign

Where did the time go?

Dustborn is pretty good (hackertalks.com)

The game got a lot of hate online, but I've generally found when a game is hated on, there's usually something more. So I decided to actually play the game. I'm 5 hours in

Honestly I like it, for telltale like walking simulator, it sets up the story pretty well, it has some nice sci-fi beats. It's good for what it is. It isn't anything it promises not to be. I think it's a good game, I'd recommend waiting until it goes on sale for $10 maybe. At that price point it's about the cost of a movie and That's where I put it in terms of value pricing.

Some communities, like fark, let you annotate users that you interact with so that when you interact with them in the future have an idea about the previous context with them.

I think that would be a good feature for lemmy, able to add a note/nick name that displays any time you see a comment or post by that user

https://iceandfire.fandom.com/wiki/Shae

Doing a rewatch of game of thrones, first time, and I'm thinking about Shae's arc.

She starts as a camp follower for a Lannister knight, gets poached into the service of Tyrion, follows him into the capital. Becomes a persistent force in his life, wont leave the city despite multiple threats on her life... Eventually Tyrion forces her onto a boat to flee the capital... and she "somehow" returns for Tyrion's regicide trial, only to end up in the bed of Tyrion's father... When Tyrian finds her there, she attempts to kill him.

This is my understanding of her Arc, and I'm confused by her motivations.

  1. Why did she come back to the capital despite being safely away?
  2. Why try to kill Tyrion when discovered in his father's bed?
  3. If her motivation was just money, why not take the nice retirement offered to her three times?
  4. If she loved Tyrion, why try to kill him at all, why come back to the capital and appear in his trial?

I don’t understand why you are treating me like a robot. However, I can help with the Fibonacci sequence. Here is a Python 3 function to calculate it:

I'm torn, its nice to have activity in the fediverse, but I'm not convinced bots are the right way to go about it. Opinions on the future of engagement bots?

Just started the 2018 Lost in space series, which has 3 seasons, and 28 episodes.

The original 1965 series also had 3 seasons, but 83 total episodes.

The cinematics are really good so far two episodes in
