Don't worry. They'll be "marked down" to regular price (still overpriced) on the sell-by date so people think they're getting a deal.

He said one of the deciding factors was "Biden's radical climate agenda." Oh, well! Good riddance. The world needs a radical climate agenda in my opinion and if you're not going to be part of the solution, then you're either contributing to the problem or standing in the way.

That's basically the situation with almost every fast food restaurant these days, some casual dinning places and even grocery stores.

[-] ki77erb@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

You can limit when an app is allowed to access your location in Android. But I'm guessing it's used for finding the nearest restaurant to do mobile orders.

Location, Camera/photos, ( I assume for something like QR scanning), notification, audio.

[-] ki77erb@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Exactly. I guess at this point, I'm ok with some certain datapoints being collected. Mostly what they'll get from me is that I occasionally like a Sausage Egg McMuffin on my way to work. lol

I never go to McDonalds without using a code from the app. $2 breakfast sandwich? Cool. 20% off entire order? Cool. It's gotten to the point that using the app is necessary to get reasonably priced food. Without it, you're overpaying.

When they dropped the $1 iced tea, I knew shit got real.

Is this a screenshot of a thumbnail?

[-] ki77erb@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago

Exactly. There are always going to be people who take advantage of others for their own personal gain. It doesn't mean that everyone who owns property and rents it out is an evil scum bag.

I always think of the words from Millencolin's song No Cigar.

Cause I don't care where I belong no more

What we share or not I will ignore

And I won't waste my time fitting in

'Cause I don't think contrast is a sin

I just did a career day at my sons middle school a few weeks ago. It's still just as cringe and awkward as when I was there myself. haha!

Apparently my other meme with nearly a 1,000 upvotes was reported and removed by mods for a rule violation. But just to clarify, the people in that photo were ACTORS posing for stock photography. No elderly people were actually being force fed while a photographer snapped shots and uploaded them to Adobe. Anyway, enjoy the happy baby! (Disclaimer: This baby may or may not be aware that it is being photographed while eating. This is not my baby, that is not my hand, and I did not take this photo.)

Every 6 months or so I go looking for a solution to this problem and still haven't found one.

When my phone (Pixel 7) is connected to my car by bluetooth, the phone itself will not make any notification sounds. It is attempting to send all notification sounds to the car. The problem is, if I am currently not listening to any media and the head unit is off, I will not hear anything at all. The only possible way to hear it, is to have the head unit on and set to bluetooth input whether or not I'm listening to anything. This was not always the case. I think it changed after Android 13 was released but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't see these very often around here. He was just hanging out on the rim of a trash can outside my office.

This place looks like heaven for film nerds. I'd give anything to spend the day here.

I'm kind of a noob at this so I just want to make sure I'm on the right track. Most of my experience is centered around using public trackers and qbitorrent with a VPN on my laptop and Android phone (using flud).

I would like to get started using Jellyfin to serve up media in my house and occasionally remotely with my phone. I have an older HP desktop that was formerly a business PC. I am currently resetting it back to a fresh install (probably Windows 10). I was thinking of putting Jellyfin on there and setting up Tailscale. I have already tested setting this up on a different computer just to learn the setup process and I got it working and was able to remote connect with my phone. I have Cox cable internet and I'm using their provided modem/wifi gateway so I probably don't have many options for customizing that other than port-forwarding. I also don't really need to set up any automation to download media automatically at this time. I basically want to be able to download movies the way I currently do and put them on the Jellyfin machine. What else do I need to know/do? What am I missing? and will I be able to just pull up Jellfin on my phone and cast media to my smart TV's (they do not have Roku btw)?

Saw this in a parking lot today. I feel bad for the bee but that's pretty mildly interesting.

I guess GIFs aren't supported but starting today, when I send an emoji in Google Messages (beta) it continuously spins around and bounces. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

EDIT: Looks like there is a website that details all the animations. https://googlefonts.github.io/noto-emoji-animation/
