What do you mean you don't want Shorts inserted in your music player?
It isn't much better either. HTG went from a great site publishing tech articles to riddled with paywalls(you will encounter sign in screens if you read multiple articles quickly), Premium options, ad affiliated newsletter links and just constant churning of low quality filler mostly.
No entry level options, relatively lower specs for the price asked, mediocre software support. That being said, they are one of the few OEMs in their price segment to still offer headphone jacks.
Well where is the oniony part? This looks like another article primed for the US Presidential election and doesn't seem to fit the premise of this sub forum.
It's a weird choice. I remember r/latestagecapitalism had one where if you accrued certain number of karma in unrelated subs, they would ban you.
They are sold directly. They don't have a very significant market share but they are still a player.
I think there can still be some balance between updates and price points. I had a Nokia (by HMD) that received two major Android upgrades whilst my Techno phone remained on Android 12 only.
No one is asking for 4 or 7 years of support from Techno but something like 2 Android upgrades is not too much to ask.
Techno offers decent value for money but they need to ramp on their software support part. For some cheap devices, you had be lucky to get a single major Android upgrade.
My city is already unlivable in summers with temps crossing 45C this time. If the site's projection is true, it will probably become Death Valley in 2080.
