It part of the protesting movement against the megabassine in what protesters call now the "water war". The objective of this particular protest was to block the port of the city of La Rochelle which is considered by protester to enable the owner of the megabassine to do the business that require such a big use of water. The mouvement has its own french wikipédia article . You can use a translator to learn more about it there.

My group of friends and I rent a bus for our yearly trip. Sometimes with driver, sometimes without when one of has the licence. Where we less, we would rent or borrow a mini-bus. And I'm regularly borrowing and renting vans and cars for trips for just a few.

Personal car ownership can be greatly reduce while still improving personal transportation convenience. Of course, at some point, it might become slightly less convenience for the individual passanger but the benefit for society would still compensate it.

Were they even that way? I mean, from as long as I can remember there was quiet and non quiet times, quiet and non quiet spaces in librairies. I've never heard of one were it is fully silent all the time. Isn't that just the case in movies for comedic effect?

Books help keep track of science and share it efficiently but the only knowledge we have is the one we still have when showering.

Idk how it works in your country but where I am, anyone can access a university library and many students also frequent the public library. So basically, if every library were open late, anyone could go to the library of they choosing.

I don't understand what is funny here. Many university librairies are open until 9 p.m and there is still people at the closing that would stay later. If every librairie were open until 10 p.m or midnight, you can be sure that some people would make use of it.

I love it. It's not a study plan but more a serie of mini goals that will make you progress if reach them. It is also a very fun way to track your progress.

The website is free. The courses include some interactions with the teachers but as long as you register during the time they accept registration, the ressource will be accessible forever.
Many popular course are re-run each year or so, evolving and improving. So, you can try to better understand what you didn't get from the previous edition or simply register to the course you miss last time.

The level of the program greatly vary from one MOOC to another. Some advertised to be for 18-year old young student. Some help me complete the program of my master degree.

There is also french course, especially for people who need the vocabular to start living in France or work in French.
