Sorry, I hate to be that guy, but since you're dismissing the opinion of one of the people that designed the first decentralised social media protocol, I'm going to assume it's because you're better qualified to make the assessment. Can I ask, what are your qualifications?

“Bluesky is called a decentralized network and uses the term federation. The problem is that their technology, from the point of view of power dynamics, is not decentralized at all,” emphasizes Christine Lemmer-Webber, an expert on decentralized social protocols. “The use of some decentralisation techniques, but the decentralized service itself is not today. There is one big company that controls the flow of information, and without which this network cannot operate at the moment.”

This does not mean that moving from X/Twitter to Bluesky is a bad idea. “I appreciate that Bluesky wants to build a service that can quickly fully replace Twitter. But I don’t think they should claim that this service is decentralized and instead focus on the date of a “trustworthy way”.

Now it makes sense.

If people were to move from ml or support a mirror, I would recommend !jellyfin@poweruser.forum . But moving to world is a terrible idea. Not because of bad admins, moderators or anything similar, but because centralisation is bad.

I actually think it's a societal issue rather than an intelligence issue. As a society we boost celebrities and put them on a pedestal almost deifying them. While at the same time we create a poisonous world and also ignore mental health. So of course people will follow celebrities like a religion hoping to bask in their glory at worst and change their life at best.

With Caitlyn, she should've faded to obscurity years ago and a better society would've ensured she needed for nothing. She should at least feel a sense of responsibility but again, capitalism is all about trampling on the weak and getting ahead.

Until we eradicate monetary wealth and support mental health as a matter of course at all levels, things like this will happen and people like this will thrive. We have to end capitalism for a better tomorrow.

This. I've been hearing some media say that everyone has biases and the problem is he went on video with it, no mate, as a professional, you tamper them down. Imagine someone not being able to play their keeper against United because the keeper supported them as a kid and so doesn't try his best. That's insane.
