It’s the same “innovativeness” as Starfield; it’s not pushing the boundaries of game design or anything but it’s a tried and tested strategy that clearly lots of people enjoy and it makes them a lot of money.

It’s not profitable? How? Rockstar is estimated to earn $8 billion from GTA VI.. that seems lucrative to me?

Big Kotlin fan.

Similar reasons to the commenter that talked about using a world class runtime, but the JVM is tested and works.

And now I can use Kotlin to make cross platform applications, while still utilizing the Java knowledge that I unfortunately possess? Perfect!

It’s been really fun but I hit a wall where I realized I wanted all the mods and assets from CS 1 to continue my building.

Not having central transit hubs or multi directional subways feels so limiting.

Yo knees over toes guy slaps, I’m a huge fan and have been since the pandemic.

I definitely fell victim to the marketing but goddamn if his workouts haven’t helped my knee pain!

I’ve been using ktor in a personal project and it’s been a joy; all the familiarity of Spring but with Kotlin first.

Also, I know that Amazon has started to switch some projects to Kotlin, since they’re such a large Java shop: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/opensource/adopting-kotlin-at-prime-video-for-higher-developer-satisfaction-and-less-code/

That’s awful, I’m sorry you had that experience— no one deserves to be harassed.

I’m interested in understanding your attitude about fitness and the female gaze if you’re willing to discuss it. Does the attention still upset you? Do you find that members of all genders treated you differently, or just woman?

Could you elaborate on your video chat solution? That sounds super cool!

Do you manually have to select the cameras, or do you have some sort of tracking system that switches the cameras as you move throughout your residence?

One of the best things a Senior Eng taught me was to understand and ask questions about every single line of code in a file you’re touching.

It’s daunting, and time consuming but the rewards are vast and eventually it will be much quicker. Of course it’s easier to follow patterns and make quick changes, but it’s more valuable to fully understand what you’re doing instead of suggesting changes that should work.

Was OP trying to bait? They used the headline from the article and even wrote a summary that explained the article.

The number of steps to sign up should be greater than or equal to the number of steps required to cancel an account. Any more hoops involved in the cancelation process are specifically designed to get users not to cancel, which is predatory.

Will the FTC support the consumers, or a cabal of capitalist businesses? I think I already know the answer, unfortunately…

Very interesting that C wasn’t onboard with your ideas, they seem extremely fair and pretty cool? You’re willing to try alternative working schedules and ideas, while still producing good results? What did C have to benefit by tearing apart your plans and then reporting you to the feds?

Regarding your current role, how do you like consulting? How has it been finding clients recently?

Perhaps it was in the video but not the blog post, because Dev Diary 1 doesn’t mention bike lanes:

Roads can be customized by adding bus lanes and tram tracks to them using the additional network building tools
