I've grandfathered an unlimited account at an independent company with no storage or speed cap with physical storage in a country highly rated for privacy. Even considering Amazon/MS as a potential hosting provider is... Something I wouldn't do.

If I can customize my house in the game, why shouldn't I customize the game in my house?

The chosen one! The chosen one!

A good advice, but most regular people don't seem to bother with rotating physical off-site storage mediums so I advocate automated (and encrypted) backups to a cloud or something as well.

Due to the green economy I only buy second or third hand disks for my RAID0 setup

Remote mount datacenter storage pools or go home. If you have physical room for your disks in your house, you need to go bigger.

Hopefully there will be several manufacturers to choose from, maybe even from countries that hasn't incorporated secret government spying through companies by law. It's not the manufacturers I'm afraid will incorporate back doors.

i can optimize a system for negligible results all night until it runs smoooth and purrs like a kitten

Wait, is that purring a destabilized fan? I'll have to get back to you.

  • Play Cyberpunk on max difficulty? No challenge.
  • Play Cyberpunk with ultra hardcore difficulty mods? Death isn't even routine.
  • Make Cyberpunk run well, while incorporating missing features? Now that's a challenge on my level, it truly feels like me versus the challenge the ~~developers~~ CDPR executives have laid before me.

I did some quick digging and found an article I shared with the community (UFO Contacts in Italy Volume Two).

It talks about “Velivoli Non Convenzionali” or VNC as an acronym for "Unconventional Flying Vehicles" and a VNC sighting in Venice, 1931. That could be it.

I find it curious that this have seemingly been worked on for decades and that the book was published years before the recent hearings that brought up the incident again. It could either support the claim as an independent third party, but could as easily be the source of the claims as well.

Have you heard about Invidious, a front-end for YouTube? It's basically a middle-man between you and YouTube, which allows you to watch YouTube videos in a more privacy-friendly way. It's open source and people run their own instances much like Lemmy.

You can watch OP's video through one of the instances here: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=Nbtjxj-OL-s

Made just a few years after the Roswell incident, it gives an early view on the phenomena and some of the pop-cultural impact. Nothing in here that haven't been discussed to death since, but it's a curious look at a different time with perhaps many of the same questions we have today.

While the provided list is more of an example than anything, I have the impression there is countless historical records of possible sightings - From ancient descriptions of legendary flying fire chariots to paintings containing objects surprisingly similar to modern descriptions of UFO's.

We know people describe unknown events with the best words they have. Modern examples can be when firescene investigations get testimonies that "The fire jumped from seat to seat". Does fire even have legs to jump with? I would not be surprised if ancient stories about "wheels within wheels" or "Flying chariots of fire" could be describing events they simply didn't have words for.

With all of the stories that could be interpreted as ancient stories of UFO's, even if just a small percentage of the are real - It would mean the UFO phenomenon have interacted with earth for at least thousands of years.

What is your thoughts on this, anything to it? Do you have different estimates? Do you think the phenomena started in 1947? Is it all just a pop-cultural mediaindustrial hoax complex?
