Thumbnails and titles are not high on my list of criteria for quality content. Clickbaity or vague is annoying but what about the next 10 to 20 minutes?

A few years ago, I used crypto-as-in-cryptography in conversation with another engineer and they seemingly derailed into talking about Bitcoin and Ethereum. We were both really confused and annoyed with each other.

It had a nostalgic feeling of what does "hacker" mean with some added irritation.

Knowing nothing?! I think Fahrenheit clearly wins as it's normalized against your own perception and experiences. If you ever have direct contact with 100C, it will be less pleasant than 100F.

But my point was that both systems have their uses and I just code switch between them depending on the task. But if you have to have only one, it should be Celsius. I won't disagree with that.

Use the right tool for the right job. Fahrenheit helps plan your day, with weather or pool temperatures or whatever. Celsius is for science and engineering. This argument sounds a little like driving a nail with a torque wrench.

I can ballpark C to F. But pressure is never going to happen. Like what's 30psi? 547000 Pa or something? Who the fuck knows. Or you could use bar, with a scale of 1 to 5, lol.

I didn't even think I was being hostile? Does no one really remember thinking "embarasada" meant embarrassed in Spanish class?

But now that I've checked back in with this thread and gotten a honestly pretty unexpected hostile reaction, yeah, let's go with that then.

Reply guy? Do you have any clue what that even means? Put the Internet away before you hurt yourself, kid.

You're bent out of shape because no one understood your dumb comment. It's kind of sad that you're so easily hurt.

Florida's MAGA magnetism is a net positive for the rest of the country. They're effectively gerrymandering themselves by packing into one voting area. Even if they gain EC votes, other areas of the country will be relatively more Blue and as Florida policies Brownback their quality of life, it'll only help the Dems win votes.

Those aren't the stereotypes that comes to mind for the worst Florida has to offer. More like old retired Boomers and upper middle class culture warriors who thought DeSantis' Covid denial was a great idea. But I didn't take a census or anything.

I'm obviously a fan of LE but a simple self-hosted option with a custom CA would be great for local machines:

  • I don't want every Raspberry Pi/laptop/temp VM/whatever published into the cert transparency record
  • Configuring the router to forward every local hostname to the machine's .well-known would be awful (if my ISP even allowed port 80)
  • Exposing local machines to the Internet is an unnecessary degradation of security

But you're not researching, hiring, and scheduling a contractor to fix it. You don't need to become an expert in long term planning and anticipate problems. You're not mentally cataloging basic maintenance tasks like when you last painted the siding or mowed the lawn.

Home ownership vs renting goes beyond equity and I know a lot of people who were happy renting because it gave them a huge chunk of free time back for trips, hobbies, etc.
