How does it work?

This community will probs create its own discord eventually but for now here is the old SimDem Server: https://discord.gg/fj97xAg2jr

I intend to NOT interfere in how the local government decides to run this community unless I'm directly ordered to by the president of simdemocracy or the senate or if the government is acting against lemmy.world terms of service.

You are free to make the rules. You are free to not make rules. You are free to make your own discord. You are free to make your own flag even

Otherwise be free to run or ruin this community in whatever way the voters want, however I hope you choose to set up some sort of basic rules for how its run.

By order of Executive Order #70

"The platforms SimDemocracy participates on shall be increased to include Lemmy.World. Management of this server shall be led by @Ghost until proper modes of management for this platform is established." -President Katy

SimDemocracy is a unique online community on Reddit (and now on Lemmy) that allows users to participate in a simulated democratic system. It's a vibrant digital society where every member has a voice, and can contribute in ways that shape the community's path.

In SimDemocracy, you're not just a passive observer - you get to be an active participant. The community offers a variety of roles such as running for political office, voting in elections, drafting legislation, debating policies, or even working as a journalist or lawyer. It's a place where you can learn about the inner workings of a democratic system, experiment with different forms of government, and participate in a vibrant political system without the real-world consequences.

If you've ever been interested in politics, law, or governance, or if you've wondered what it might be like to run for office, argue a legal case, or draft a piece of legislation, SimDemocracy is a fantastic place to learn, grow, and have fun.

Remember, it's not just a game - it's a community. And in this community, your vote, your voice, and your actions can truly make a difference.

The Lemmy colony of SimDemocracy currently has no government! I will soon start an election to choose a governor to the community who will decide the rules and how the community will be moderated. ___

The Lemmy World SimDemocracy community has been formed? How will we use this new form? Idk. but I think we should start by setting up a way of governing it. Perhaps we should organize elections?
