Alternative Nation is the Fediverse’s largest (and very active) alternative and indie music community and by gum, we’d love to have you! We are nearing 2,000 subscribers, about 500 active/mo, tons of fresh & classic posts every day and I think you lovely people would fit right on in.

Some things to look forward to:

  • Current daily: 30 Day Song Challenge (Alternative Nation styles) - we are on Day 3 today.
  • New Music Fridays - Fresh releases & lists
  • Sunday Top 40 Chart
  • Monday Alternative Nation Top Voted List & Playlist update
  • Questions of the Week (usually on Wednesday)
  • Daily posts of new song releases and absolute gems from the 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s!

Hope to see you beautiful people over there!!!

Love,

Ren

super frustrating from a community building perspective. no point in lemmy.ml folks joining !alternativenation@lemmy.world if no post ever actually show up for them.

[-] tsuru@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

yeah, not sure if it's .world or .ml (both of which have had issues) or just persistent lemmy issues

[-] tsuru@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

yeah, definitely see it with kbin, but I was chocking that up to "early days", but I assumed Lemmy-to-Lemmy federation was not an issue.

[-] tsuru@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

yeah, I'm not sure where the issue is - .world? .ml? lemmy in general?

See the screenshots.

Basically, people posting to !alternativenation@lemmy.world from lemmy.world or other instances all seem to work well, even going to Mastodon with no issues.

But lemmy.ml doesn't seem to be seeing many of the post and is slow to update things like pinned posts.

Nor does lemmy.ml posts to the community seem to be going to Mastodon.

Challenging to build a community on Lemmy when one of the big instances can't see many of the posts making an active community of over 1500 users seem dead.
