I’m stealing an idea from !thesimpsons@lemmy.world because they had a great idea.

For me, it’s my dogs! I love walking and playing with them. I love seeing them happy. They didn’t choose to be my pets, but it really makes me feel good to know they are happy and they love me in their own way.

A random little kid at the park called me “gummy face”, and I definitely did not cry about later that night.

I see buck all the time I’m my neighborhood! I was on a walk earlier this summer and turned a corner to be face to face with a small herd that was hopping fences to graze. The buck was across the street and just stared at me.

At first I was afraid because they can get big, but now I’ve seen them a few times and I’m thinking they are used to people. I’m still not getting close if I can help it. They are much bigger than you would expect.

I like seeing them but I feel bad that they are stuck in the city.

Deer aren’t edge cases. If you are in a rural community or the suburbs, deer are a daily way of life.

As more and more of their forests are destroyed, deer are a daily part of city life. I live in the middle of a large midwestern city; in neighborhood with houses crowded together. I see deer in my lawn regularly.

I can’t stand YouTube’s feed. It’s so bad. This does not help. I know many others already said it, but this is not an improvement.

The date can matter a lot. Especially, when it comes to tech learning. That world moves too fast. If you’re learning programming on YouTube, you need to be sure you have current info.

I desperately with YouTube had real competition.

I’m so sick of the 5th Circuit. We need legislation to end judge shopping. Every damn article about some terrible decision seems to come out of the Fifth Circuit.

That’s interesting! I love that in transitioned into something tangible. I tried to get some house plants but I keep forgetting to water them.

I got a switch from a friend awhile ago and didn’t use it much but recently I put 100+ hours in Stardew Valley on that thing.

I play all types of games from racing to shooters, sims to casual. Lately I’m especially drawn to games like Stardew because I hate dealing with boys/men online. No pressure, no hate. Maybe I’m just getting old.

This amount actually seems low.

If the survey is reflective of real world percentages. Women are close to half of all people. White men are 31% of the US population. Assuming some of them aren’t straight men or have disabilities, thats a pretty large possibilities of options that someone can fling hate at.

To be clear, straight white men can also experience hate. I don’t want to discredit them. It just seems to me that most of the hate is directed at other identity groups, so I’m using it to make a point.

How do you stayed focused on a task when the task involves some type of waiting?

For example, I have a really hard time staying focused at work. The problem for me is, our software can be really really really slow. While I’m waiting for Outlook to load an email, or our internal tooling to populate data, I find my mind is wandering. Often, I’ll start on another task or pick up my phone and just completely forget about the first thing I started.

At the end of the day, I have to figure out why I have 8 half written emails open in the background of my PC.

How do you stay on track when your tasks require patience?

I’ve seen this show thousands of times. I have most of it memorized to the point where I can recite it from memory, but I still catch new things all the time. That’s one of my favorite things about this show.

What’s something you realized after rewatching the show several times?

I'm a Bethesda hoarder and a crazy person, so I made a spreadsheet. I know there's a mod if you're on PC, but I'm on Xbox so I needed some help. Thought you might be interested. I got the data from Starfield Wiki and just added simple functions for the ratios.

I need a KVM switch or some kind of USB hub that allows me to share a single keyboard and mouse between two computers. The problem is, one of those computers is for work and I have very limited access to the system settings, and I can't install software. The problem is that it causes the keyboard to constantly disconnect and reconnect every few seconds.

I don't have access to the power settings in device manager. Is there something else I can do?

This Insignia USB HUB is what I have now. It works fine on my home computer with no adjustments, but it makes the keyboard disconnect on my laptop. All other USB inputs work fine.

Any suggestions are appreciated! I'm willing to buy a new KVM switch, if needed.

Thanks in advance!
