As a content consumer ... none of those "alternatives" are alternatives to youtube.

They all immediately take you to a "how to buy hosting on our platform, and why our platform is good for hosting" pages. Rather than just taking you to the hosted content. So as a consumer, I now need to work out how to consume the content there. And ... I ain't gonna bother.

youtube.com the content is right there.

Youtube is a platform for consumers, that creators have to work for.

In a world of fuel efficiency (and range) being a prime seller ... I cannot fathom why low profile saloons (and estates) are not more of a thing. Surely a lighter bodied lower profile vehicle has less drag and therefore better range and efficiency. Surely.

We're just marketed and, more importantly people are still buying, these bloody great big heavy SUVs with bugger all space inside.

The thing that says "click to rate" and has the pointer arm off the chart in it's default "rest" position.

Right, it's right there

It's almost like the disunity with europe is part of some targeted effort

You don't do it by appeasing then and allowing them to invade neighbors.

We were making Russia a geopolitical ally. Russia decided to invade Ukraine. Appeasement met with backstabbing.

The bully that starts the war doesn't need to be appeased to stop the war. They need to be defeated.

History tells this is the only way. Appeasement just drags the way out until the bully bullies again.

The headline there (from the BBC) is incendiary at a minimum.

I'm no Royalist. But the Monarch actually takes less of a percentage from the estate than they used to. 12% this year down from 25% last year. What has happened, is the crown estate is making more money due to financing green energy strategies which are both environmentally beneficial and financially sound.

The Monarch taking 12% from the estate, and the estate getting richer means there is more money going into the public domain from the estate that there has been before. This isn't "money from the gubment" being given to the monarch. This is the monarchs businesses are doing better than they have before.

Attacking people for being misinformed

But, I was told people were not stupid and they knew what they were voting for. How dare I assume they didn't understand the implication and how dare I think I know more about it than they did.

I understand your point that attacking people and calling them stupid wont "make them change their mind". But they had the time to research and understand the implications before the referendum. They've had much more time now to go back over it.

Banging your head on the wall pretending it won't hurt, doesn't make you misinformed or need education. It makes you stupid and it needs to be called out. I don't need to convince someone that banging their head on a wall will hurt.

Sadly, I do need them to stop banging their head on the wall. As it's a shared house and we've all got to live here. Holes in the wall ain't helping anyone.
