Was there any value to the “post in the thread before purchase to help reduce scammers?“ How would we do something similar?
You were supposed to post in the thread in order to prove that you weren't banned from the subreddit. I know the ban list got fairly long over on watchexchange, so I assume it was preventing at least some scams. I think the same thing would work here. But IMO the most trustworthy buying and selling subs were the ones that had some kind of "verified purchases" bot, where the buyer and seller would tell the bot about the transaction and then it would add to your transaction count. That would be a great thing to have.
Pen_Swap is probably the only thing that could occasionally pull me back to Reddit. I think I’ve bought 1 $30 pen in my collection from Amazon. The rest were from the community. I’ve got several I need to release back into the wild from my collection, I’m having difficulty which ones to select. What I want keeps changing, but a smooth buttery nib is amazing no matter what.
We should be the change we want to see in the world, but first, I must caffeinate….
As @tuckerm@supermeter.social pointed out, the idea was to prevent banned people from posting.
It seemed silly, but it's a decent way to keep the banned folks out without individuals having to keep a permanent close eye on the list.
