Yeah agreed, I know so many people that were pushed off the fence by the gun issue. There's much bigger fish to fry and I think if people felt more secure financially and had access to healthcare they'd be more open to the gun discussion because they wouldn't constantly have that "I'm in danger" feeling going on in the back of their mind. Although there's a big set of gun owners who are just never going to budge on that issue.

I agree with you. A majority of the mass shootings (all shootings, really) would disappear overnight if we increased financial security and had free healthcare. Couple it with a cultural push for mental health awareness and care and you wouldn't need too many gun laws on the books.
