I'm guessing it is based upon this: https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/historical-cost-of-computer-memory-and-storage

45 years ago the cost was 567 382,81 for a GB. Now it is 0.01 for a GB.

Although the graph is in TB.

Most likely not based on consumer hardware though.
