This will be a place for site proposals and discussion before implementation on the site.
Every proposal will also be mirrored into a pinned post on the hexbear community.
Any other ideas for helping to integrate the two spaces are welcome to be commented here or messaged to me directly.
Within Hexbear Proposals you can see the history of all site proposals and react to them, indicating a vote for or against a proposal.

No grievance really, but can we change the featured posts into something like an iframe situation where they could be scrolled through and appear separate from the rest of the post feed? Are iframes even a thing anymore? I'm dating the fuck out of myself with my archaic geocities coding knowledge. Just kinda spitballing here, as I've seen multiple posts about how there are so many megathreads things seem to get muddled. I feel like maybe that could tidy things up a bit, if it's even possible
heavily edited bc my original comment was an adhd hasty braindump, just like most of my posts
The reddit mobile web page actually handles it pretty well by making the pinned posts take up one side-scrolling iframe
I don't think I've noticed that but that's exactly the idea. Carcosa did say that's not something that's possible to create within Hexbear, though which sucks :/ If I knew how to code myself I'd do it for Lemmy so we could have it
That would require someone developing it for upstream lemmy, good idea though. Sadly we cannot rely on any feature request that requires development hence trying to find a solution with existing tools.
Ahhh I see, yeah I don't know how any of this coding/web development stuff works so had an inkling it might be way more laborious than just doing lol. By upstream you mean it couldn't be done through hexbear but the people who develop features for lemmy as a whole?
