Summary

Former federal prosecutor Sara Levine, fired by Trump, warned on 60 Minutes that the Justice Department is "under attack."

Levine, who prosecuted January 6 rioters, said she was fired for upholding the law.

Legal expert Peter Keisler criticized Trump's pardons of Capitol rioters, arguing they signal that crimes committed in support of Trump's agenda may go unpunished.

These actions undermine the rule of law and discouraging accountability for political violence.

Look up Jerry Falwell and the Moral Majority. They had a simple trick to take control of the GOP.

Whenever the local GOP club met to discuss an issue, the MMs would show up with enough people to win any vote.

If twenty folks had shown up to pick the new county clerk the last time, the MMs would show up with fifty.

It's called 'organizing. That's how AOC and Omar did it, and so can you.

We did. We even won a mayoral primary. Then, the local dems stumped for a write in campaign for the incumbent mayor, and leaned heavy on cops to vote.

In exchange for that, the local Dems dropped lit and in other ways helped the Reich Wing sheriff win his race.

So, again, how do you organize around the two major parties working together to ensure you are kept out?

Oh, cherry on top? The local Board of elections chair is also the chair of the dem committee... who made sure the primary winner lost her other ballot line (WFP)....

Yeah.... voot bloo no matter hoo!

And you act shocked when people say both parties are the same?

Oh, remember that time socialists won the Nevada Dem Committee in a wipe out? Remember afterwards they canceled all office leases, drained the bank accounts, and filed a recertification of the organization with the state?

Yeah, those are good times....

And yet the Squad all managed to do it.

[–] ubergeek@lemmy.today 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

The squad has done some awesome.stuff, sure.

How do you suggest we organize around the situation I described? The party boss controls all levers if government here...

I mean, wfp has been fighting hard... against the dems trying to keep them off the ballot, totally....

Our fucking governor is a right winger and a Dem...

You are allowed to contribute to and work for people outside your district.

[–] ubergeek@lemmy.today 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

At this point, far to much to do locally, to be overly worried about a Christofascist state's elections.

I usually don't bother to look at people's names when they post. You're running three arguments at once and not making sense in any of them.

You just keep repeating yourself, and never post any actual ideas or plans.

I've said good-bye once, andnow I'll do it again.

I'd block you, but I got a chuckle out of how demented you were getting.
