And right you are OP. I've thought the X had some resemblance to a swastika but this is the first time I've seen someone actually realizing it graphically.
Also X in ASCII table is under 88. That might be another reason he is so obsessed about it.
I had to go and check that, it's so on the nose. Yup, X is character code 88.

88 is Nazi code for HH (Heil Hitler). H is the 8th letter in the alphabet.
