I literally can't imagine what we would need that much energy for. I think every single person on the planet could be using the current amount that americans use and it would still be many hundreds of times more than required.

You know like desalinization, supercomputers, vertical farming, various experimental chemical processes and apertures. Human civilization is marked by the times humanity was able to harvest more energy.
