Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

Pursuant to these authorities, I have determined that the activities and presence of these aliens in the United States would have potentially serious adverse foreign policy consequences and would compromise a compelling U.S. foreign policy interest. These determinations are based on information provided by the DHS/ICE/HSI regarding the participation and roles of [redacted] and Khalil in antisemitic protests and disruptive activities, which fosters a hostile environment for Jewish students in the United States. My determination for [redacted] is also based on citations for unlawful activity during these protests. The public actions and continued presence of [redacted] and Khalil in the United States undermine U.S. policy to combat anti-Semitism around the world and in the United States, in addition to efforts to protect Jewish students from harassment and violence in the United States. Consistent with E.O. 14150, America First Policy Directive to the Secretary of State, the foreign policy of the United States champions core American interests and American citizens and condoning anti-Semitic conduct and disruptive protests in the United States would severely undermine that significant foreign policy objective.

Marco Rubio is just straight out saying that they're deporting Mahmoud Khalil because his protests are against Israel's Genocide is against US foreign policy, ie US foreign policy is doing a genocide.

I'm so sorry for trying to make the news more digestible for people by summarizing things that are written. I'll stop doing this from now on because you already know everything.

?? i was just making a silly joke. i didn't mean for it to be rude or anything. not sure it warranted this level of passive-aggressiveness.

How can you say that your meme is not hostile when it is literally an image pointing a gun at the words that are wrote? "it always has been" is a correction. I wrote that the US is admitting to supporting genocide and your meme says "well duh". It is smug. You are saying "I already knew that" with an image of a gun. That is hostile and annoying to me.

i think you're reading a lot into a picture and three words. the only thought i was trying to convey was that u.s. foreign (and domestic) policy has always been to commit genocide, which to me at least is pretty plainly a reductive joke rather than some kind of backhanded attempt at "correcting" you. there was nothing to correct you on because you were just making a statement of fact. i appreciated your breakdown, i just didn't have anything substantive to add to it so i made a joke.

sorry if you perceived that as hostile but i find your actual, intended hostility deeply unpleasant and, as i said, extremely unwarranted. feel free not to reply if you're going to continue being a dick because i'm straight up not interested.

Way to assume ill intent where there was none

"US foreign policy is genocide" "I agree, always has been" was the intended statement, I believe.

Sorry to butt in I just didn't want to sit on the sidelines of comrade infighting.

And I've been on the THC so I feel like playing internet therapist. I can see how I might have gotten my RSD triggered if I was in your shoes given your interpretation.
