Did you even watch the Africa arc? That show goes hard when they get to Earth
I'm almost finished my second watch of Zeta and will attempt ZZ again after. I either skipped to Char's Counterattack after not having much fun or was checked out for it. Either way I don't remember much
It gets better after they leave Shangri La, and really really picks up on Earth and stays good except for this weird mini arc near the end. The second OP is also pretty great.
That first arc can be really rough, especially coming off the end of Zeta. I realize I sound like "half of the show is kinda bad" but the good half is on par with the best parts of Zeta lol.
Also second watch of Zeta is something I'm enjoying so much I was feeling the slow pace of new Andor cause I wanted to get back to Zeta. I loved the first season of andor and the opening was kinda weak for this season, for 3 hour long episodes very little happened and it coulda been 2 episodes or possibly even one depending on what is relevant later, for sure 2 tho. But my Andor hype was huge so feeling the Zets pull is a huge credit to Zeta.
I'm pushing Gundam along with Babylon 5 super hard to IRL friends cause I don't know anyone else that watches them and wanna talk about it verbally

Encounters in Space is a must-watch for a Gundam fan. It's probably one of the best anime compilation movies - it tidies up part of the TV show that had really rushed production due to the show's cancellation.
The first one and Soldiers of Sorrow are what you'd expect for a TV compilation movie - good for a recap of a show. The insert song in Soldiers of Sorrow is great, though. When I was a kid, I was always super confused why the final level in the Journey to Jaburo PS2 game had a special music track lol
Most of my favorite shows half of the show is bad. I'm a trekkie. Maybe I'll finally watch the original series movies as an in between so I'm not coming straight from zeta. Still only watched the TV series for that
