Pope is kind of both, though

[–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 18 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

The catholic church is an international organization though

Maybe they live in Vatican city

"Domestic terrorist" would imply the Pope is bombing the Vatican

[–] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 2 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I think that's a pretty narrow definition of terrorist. My mind went to the beliefs he preaches.

What, no, using violence is like the only qualifier to "terrorism" that everyone agrees on.

Now, we can - and should - discuss what violence means and the forms it takes in society. But actual physical violence is pretty universally agreed to be the key qualifier for a terrorist.

If it was universal the fascists wouldn't call spray painting a Tesla terrorism

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 1 points 7 minutes ago

Intentionally damaging property is considered violence, yes. (Don't mistake this as some sort of pro-Musk statement.)

Pope's home country is literally the tiniest one, and he rules it. Can one be a domestic terrorist in that position?

[–] HEXN3T@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I don't know about that, Pope Francis was pretty good by my standards

If your view that progress is only progress if you get everything you want with no downsides what so ever, you're doomed to be disappointed for the rest of your life.

The last guy was shockingly progressive for a pope. If that's not something to at least appreciate, even if you're not going to laud it, then all this bitching is pointless grandstanding.
