Why would Putin need to launder money? Putin likely has control of the mint and the fraud enforcement.you only need to launder money if you are trying to prove it's legit after obtaining it illegally.
I'm sure there is a connection to Putin's money and Trump's money, but I don't think it's laundering.
Putin wouldn’t need to launder Russian money.
But if he has a stockpile of USD, then he would have to launder that to hide it from the US government.
