I'll listen to something out of most genres, but I think a lot of popular hard rock is pretty corny.
What do you mean specifically? I listen to a lot of relatively popular hard rock. Do you mean like Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, or FFDP being silly and angry for no reason?

They are a little silly. A lot of the bands I like have a lot of music that sound the same, but at least try to be unique with it.
I always get the vibe that FFDP are a bunch of really nice and polite people trying to give off a vibe of being hardcore and angry and not understanding how to do it.
I was going for "crypto-fash dweebs", but I agree with the basic premise
I don't know enough about them outside of my brother listening to them, your take is probably more accurate.
