I feel this weird mix of pity and disgust every time I see Indians kiss the boot that stomped them for centuries. There's nothing else quite like it.

High caste Indians didn’t really have it much better. Of course, the monarchs and megawealthy are always insulated but not all upper caste are wealthy or even not dirt poor.
