Sadly, makes bugger all difference here in Australia - our electricity is mostly coal-generated.
At this time, we're up to over 36% renewable.. So we are getting better. In 2017, it was only 17%. If we got rid of the libs earlier (who made the carbon tax debate toxic), we'd be so much better. Even with coal generation though, Heat pumps are still more efficient, as they're measured well over 100% efficient (200%+), whereas gas is less than 100%
