In the migration to lemmy, this community's admins have the chance to drop its startlingly racist name. Wasn't funny back then, and it's still not funny.

Never made the connection. I think its a bit far fetched to get worked up about, but PC Gaming Race could work i guess

So far fetched the tech industry has been working to get rid of master/slave and blacklist/whitelist for years. Definitely just OP noticed tho

Because that's not the connection, and you didn't make it because you're not looking for silly reasons to get upset over. The symbolism of dark vs light, fire vs darkness predates modern notions of racism and according to a quick wiki check, the etymology of the word blacklist has no relation to the color of anyone's skin either.
