I couldn't care less if you call a white person a cracker. It rolls off a white person like any other insult because unlike actual racism it has none of the weight and history of systemic oppression and cultural destruction behind it.

No white person has ever felt harmed by the word cracker. Which is precisely why it is not racist. The only "harm" they see in the word is using it to tut tut at POC, which is itself racist.

cringe origin storyi'm not gonna lie i used to get mad when i got called a cracker as a little kid because i'm mixed race but really light skinned. i felt like i was having my admittedly small (1/4) black heritage denied and lumped in with the WASPy oppressors even though the euro side of my family was immigrants from potato land anyway. now idgaf but woo wee that shit used to get me shaking when i was like 10 at the bus stop

I feel like that's sort of fair in a way? It's like having your actual heritage denied.

yeah, i reckon this is the only time you can be offended by being called a cracker - because you're not one and you're having your actual identity denied
