Smelled like plastic melting in my laundry room but there's nothing burning as far as I can tell. Love living in an ancient house with shit wiring that's probably a fire hazard.
Do you have a gas dryer? My oven smelled like that, and it was incomplete combustion products being produced along with carbon monoxide.
Electric, I think. hm, might be the oven. Anycase the smell is gone now thankfully, but it had me worried. Very weird. Worth mentioning there was some utility trucks outside my house too, a bucket truck for electrical wires, so maybe that had something to do with it.
