You Should Know
YSK - for all the things that can make your life easier!
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules (interactive)
Rule 1- All posts must begin with YSK.
All posts must begin with YSK. If you're a Mastodon user, then include YSK after @youshouldknow. This is a community to share tips and tricks that will help you improve your life.
Rule 2- Your post body text must include the reason "Why" YSK:
**In your post's text body, you must include the reason "Why" YSK: It’s helpful for readability, and informs readers about the importance of the content. **
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding non-YSK posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-YSK posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
If you are a member, sympathizer or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

This is such blatant advertising. Go away with the ad spam. That’s what Instagram is for.
Not at all. I've just been using it for a few weeks and I just wish I had discovered it sooner.
You're free to do whatever you want with this information
Yeah I totally believe you. Interesting how you post some product, then a few random posts to seem like a real account, then some other product. Go away.
This user has been quite active in plenty of communities for a while, and you can tell that they are familiar with our format. We have no issues with this post, and it doesn't violate our community rules.
These kinds of posts are not necessarily ill-intentioned. Sometimes people might want to support a community with content and they may be having a hard time finding something. Then sharing a product that works for them becomes their way of supporting, and easily fits the format. We can absolutely tolerate that since we're all just getting started at the moment, and things need to stay afloat(with content). More than that, it's quite lovely that a person would show any effort at supporting a community at all. Things will eventually settle down and the rules for YSKs will get more serious over time, but we're not there yet. As long as they're not the majority of posts it's all good.
Thank you for this. I even double-checked the rules beforehand to male sure I wasn't breaking any.
Also it is definitely not ill-mentioned. As I already said I am NOT affiliate with them and everyone can clearly see there are not affiliated links in my posts.
Some friends of mine recommended this website to me and I've been simply enjoying it for the reasons I've explained in the post.
A few random posts? Dude what are you talking about? Do I really look like a spam account to you?
I joined lemmy a year ago when there was basically no content, I came back when the APIcalypse happened and since then I've tried to do my best to interact with lots of communities and users to try and make this project grow. I've even donated to lemmy amd my own istance. That's some really unfair claim you're moving to me
