Anas Haqqani, a Taliban thinker with family ties to the leadership, has endorsed Twitter over the Facebook-owned Threads. He said Twitter has more freedom of speech and credibility than other platforms. The Taliban likes Twitter's lax moderation policies which allow them to spread their message. Facebook and TikTok ban the Taliban but Twitter does not. Despite Twitter's recent problems under Elon Musk, it remains a place where the Taliban can voice their views and be heard.
