Agreed, the animated ones are also annoying IMO. Generally I block those users.
TIL users could have animated usernames 😳 haven't seen one myself yet

You use a client that shows avatars? I disable all that stuff ASAP. Same with Reddit, never saw any avatars or awards or snoos... blocked all of it.
My client is called web browser. But thanks, because I found that I can disable it here too.

What? I didn't know that. 😀 👍 I'm using default lemmy world, that works fine for me. And I found out avatars can be disabled, so I did that.
But I'll definitely check out the other interfaces.

I'm on Desktop and have seen animated user names before.

Sounds like a sync problem tbh.
Some clients just show it as a still photo which is fine but on the web and some decent clients it works.
