That's a huge jump for them. Their work culture is brutal. Knew a guy who worked at a tourist resort and he worked three weeks straight with 15 hour shifts for one day off so he could take a vacation to Haiti with his family.
Considering the circumstances nowadays, how's Haiti... and him.... seems like every little nook and cranny in that places is removed due to Western-backed compradors and western intervention...
This was before things got really bad pre-pandemic. Before that it wasn't entirely unheard of for people with less money to have Haiti as a travel destination. It was a lot like Americans going to Canada or Mexico depending on how close they live to which border.
