Wait, yesterday I saw a link here that said "IDF guns down thousands". Does anyone know what actually happened there?
The Israeli extermination force started firing indiscriminately at a crowd of thousands of unarmed starving people killing hundreds and wounding hundreds more.
There will be no consequences. Israel is continuing to exterminate Palestinians with approval and supplies from America.
Stop voting for political parties that send taxpayer money to Israel.
People, set a few red lines and make these a criteria for who you vote for.
Which political parties do you suggest for our US friends?
It does not matter because FPTP automatically disenfranchises third-party voters. They're not even effective protest votes because they play into the hand of the established parties, who do not care.
The American Left needs to accept that Democracy doesn't just happen once every four years, it's a process. Vote Biden in in November and work against him for every day of his mandate.
Aid was supposed to be distributed to the people Israel are starving.
IDF claims people were pushing, so the obvious way to calm these people was to fire "warning shots" and the IDF fired those at cheat level.
Which caused chaos that IDF thought was a Hamas attack or something, and they opened fire at the chaos they caused.
So I think there's translation issues. They shot at a group of thousands, and hit hundreds, others were trampled to death by people fleeing the IDF.
Because nothing says "warning shots" like aiming directly at someone
looks like IDF fired at and killed people trying to get to the food aid trucks.
From the looks of things, the IDF laid a trap for Palestinians.
The IDF promised food aid to the people they've been starving for the past few months (and keeping on the brink of starvation for the past 17 years)
The crowds gathered, waiting for the food aid to trickle out, when the IDF opened fire with vehicle mounted, heavy machine guns. Over 100 people are dead, and something like 750 were wounded.
Here's an article about it.
A lot of them were children getting the food as well.
IDF gains nothing from killing Palestinian civilians, so this seems highly doubtful.
Um, the IDF has been killing Palestinian civilians en-mass since the start of the war. Using 2000lbs bombs in civilian areas kills civilians.
High level Israeli officials have flat out said that the end goal is 100% ethnic cleansing. An Israel completely free of Palestinians.
They've been slow rolling the Ethnic Cleansing for decades, but now they have an excuse to speed things up a bit. With the unwavering support of various major powers, Israel can speed run the ethnic cleansing.

I think your imagination of how it looks like if a high tech military wants to kill civilians "en-mass" in a highly dense area like Gaza is severely lacking. And I'm not blaming you really, that's not a nice thing to think about. But it does cloud your judgment.
What they are actually doing, instead of committing genocide, is prioritising winning the war over causing civilian casualties on the enemy side. Nearly every army does that in a war. We could say to Hamas that this is the cost of starting a war, but that would be of course pointless, since they care even less about civilian casualities than IDF. They prioritize causing global outrage against Israel over their own civilians. Some evidence suggests that's what they're aiming for.
Oh that makes sense. It just looks like ethnic cleansing. It just tastes, smells, sounds and feels like genocide. It's not... But it just looks that way.
Then why do they keep doing it?
Strawman: IDF is committing genocide.
Steelman: Hamas tries to maximize civilian casualties to generate international outrage.
Truth is probably somewhere between these extremes. I'm leaning towards the steelman argument but not heavily.
Have you been ignoring the entirety of Israeli/Palestinian history? The IDF is a force for genocide. Killing Palestinians is the goal.
Obviously it is not committing a genocide. They're fighting a city block war inside a highly dense area against an enemy who uses its own civilians as both shields and fodder for creating global rage.
And opening fire on civilians grabbing aid, and indiscriminately bombing children, and massacring far more civilians than Hamas ever did proportionally, right? Such a righteous army!
Fuck off with Genocide denial.
Thank you for perfectly illustrating how they have succeeded in creating global rage.
Yep, the IDF should be abolished and Netanyahu should stand trial for genocide for their atrocities.
It's perfectly normal to be outraged by genocide. You don't have to open fire on children getting food!
My understanding is a number of Palestinians gathered over the rumors of aid being delivered. The IDF got nervous seeing so many in one location and shot the crowd. Numbers from yesterday were over 100 dead and 700+ wounded.
Reports are coming in with over 100 dead and 800 injured.
One hospital that treated 175 people said over 100 were shot just at their hospital, so the above is wrong.
It appears most of the dead were trampled in a panic or run over by the trucks fleeing from the IDF firing into the crowd, but more than 100 people were shot.
104 died according to this article. Guaranteed that tons more, possibly hundreds more, sustained injuries. Don't spread misinformation.
