Definitely not going to argue with you there. I switched here to get away from that exact thing, and because I felt much more at home on Lemmy with people like you in the comments(I see you in the comments all of the time <3).

Aww, thanks!

Still, I am proof that at least some of us left Reddit because we found a home here surrounded by more left-leaning people. I find myself agreeing with a lot more people here than I ever did on Reddit.

I came then as well, I was more referring to the average. Still, thanks for sharing!

Some instances had a good amount of activity, especially if the had a non-reddit community before the major reddit exodus. Reddit brought far more right-leaning individuals.

I see you, and I hear you

Nah, it generally happens anywhere that intentionally bans Marxists and other leftists. You start to see right wing views become normalized and not as actively fought against. Being rabidly anticommunist invites Zionists and other fascists.

[-] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 5 points 7 hours ago

0 tolerance policy for Marxists? Looks like a welcoming space for anti-Marxists. Who hates Marxists the most? Fascists.

It's only happened every time, maybe next time things will be different?

I like the ideology of socialism where workers control the means of production but I think a revolution will always put the power in the hands of the few as a by-product. I agree with Marx on a lot of points, but I also disagree with him on others.

Historically, Socialist revolutions have done dramatic shifts towards democratization of production.

Capitalism does a lot of bad, capitalism also does a lot of good (think cheaper food production and more investment into equipment for productivity). So there are two solutions. Remove capitalism or remove the bad. In my opinion removing capitalism is a surefire way to remove the bad but will also remove the good. Removing the bad from capitalism is a lot more complex and turns a sprint into a marathon but I think the end product will lead to a more equitable society that's genuinely controlled by the people

Cheaper food production and investment into machinery is a core part of Marxism, achieved via central planning. Removing Capitalism doesn't remove these aspects.

Secondly, you don't mention at all how you will convince the ruling class to give you these concessions, it isn't a marathon, it's pushing a boulder up an infinite mountain.

Thirdly, you have not at all explained why Capitalism is more controlled by the people, the point of Capitalism is profit in the hands of the ones who hold the Capital. Democratically controlling production via Marxism makes far more sense.

It's fine to have a personal opinion, but Marxists are going to have similar criticisms of your opinions.

You say on a Lemmy.ml community, lol

I think it's important for people to realize that political parties will serve the mechanisms that give them power. In Capitalism, that typically takes the form of donors. The DNC will always serve their donors and the interests of their donors.

Lemmy is small enough that it cannot afford to alienate people, or afford to have a superiority complex over the likes of Reddit or Twitter. The best advert is to be a welcoming community.

What do you mean by this? Lemmy doesn't need to afford anything, it's free and open source.

Jerboa is maintained by Lemmy devs.

Unfortunately, that's for Reddit currently. Using Lemmy over Reddit is a non-normie choice already.

Eerie yet nostalgic PSX/N64 graphics, costs as much as a starb*cks drink, with a great soundtrack and killer movement mechanics. It's just so fun to schmoooove around.

If you like Indie games, Metroidvanias, and/or 3D platformers, give it a look!

Plus, it runs perfectly on Steam Deck.

These days, Indies are really popping off IMO. Gems like Animal Well are coming out all the time. What are your favorites?

Outside of Disco Elysium, of course. Looking for games with great narratives and some level of Class Consciousness.

Bonus points if it plays well on Steam Deck!

Ranking by themes, enjoyment, and how well these builds are actualized, what general build is most fun in each game? An ideal case, "fun maximized" run. What are your thoughts?

I've always held the belief that music wasn't better in the past, people just have survivorship bias. What are your genuine favorite albums of the last few years?

Personally, I'm loving The Rime of Memory by Panopticon, Ants from Up There by Black Country, New Road, and Hellfire by Black Midi.

Just what the title says. I know New Vegas is the fan favorite (and it's mine as well), but what do you personally like replaying the most? Is it Fallout 1, with its tight narrative and quick replay value? Is it 2, with its massive expansion on Fallout 1's formula? Is it 3, with the most atmospheric Wasteland to explore? Is it New Vegas, with the best roleplaying and replayability in the series? Is it Fallout 4, with the best gunplay and survival mode? What are your thoughts?

Could be wabbajack, a guide, or even a list from a YouTuber. What curated mod list is your favorite? I'm partial to Viva New Vegas and like some of the Mojave Express Guide, but lists like Lost Liberty and The Sands, which have very clear visions in mind, have been a ton of fun as well. Especially looking for any for Fallout 4, I haven't played 4 in years.

Everyone knows about Fallout 4: New Vegas, but what about the other projects? Fallout: London, Nuevo Mexico, and other large scale mods are on my radar. What's on yours?

A huge new mod looks like it's actually coming out! I know many are wary after The Frontier, but what are y'alls thoughts? Looks fun at the very least! I like the new Vault Boy stand-in, and love the river/boat setting.
