By all means take a couple of hours and watch it. It's been a while since I watched it, but it's full of very interesting choices, some better than others. I actually don't really love McLachlan as Paul though, and the whole thing takes a very theatrical approach. I can see the criticism of Chalamet, but I think he does a fairly good job of leveraging the fact that he was trained since diapers and gets in to the role. Hell, being a guy who's a little bit manufactured may make him the perfect person to play the Kwisatz Haderach.
