@FfaerieOxide Tell them to join the Fediverse from the Fediverse 😀

Like, simply, if you tell them that they can access all the content they want on Threads (because that's why they're there), while not being there, and also see it demoed from you, the person already on the non-Meta Fediverse, they are more likely to make the switch, especially if they encounter any regular issue like being wrongly banned or having network issues.

Hell, even if they create backup accounts here, it's still a partial win for us - they can switch back any time back and forth and see what fits them better. ;)

The Fediverse is the Fediverse by not being Meta. You are arguing for destroying the Fediverse for everyone by waving Meta in.

Why do you keep putting my and others' @ in your messages? If that's a your instance thing it's weird.

By waving Meta or Meta users? If it's the latter, I do not see anything wrong. Regular instance moderation still applies.

My point is that the focus should be on user growth of the regular Fediverse, so that Meta would have a harder time applying EEE and making an actual impact with it. (De)federation of Threads should be less of an important topic. But user growth should be the numero uno priority.

Those are my 2c on this. Hope I made myself clear.

Yes, I'm on Friendica, and this is the default behavior, sorry. This seems to be a way to be compatible with Mastodon, which uses tags to notify people of new replies (silly, I know, but someone at Mastodon decided that this is the way to go).

When replying to someone, I usually write the comment after the 1st tag because it's easier and makes more sense in such a discussion. Sorry if that bothered you. I am now on my PC and I can delete them easier 😁
