Star Wars was always bad scifi, because it's actually a space western. I think there is a lot of recoverable potential but I think it's cursed to be "who knows what kind of death star the next movie will be about!!!"
The sequels are basically just as much remakes as they are "true sequels".
Prequels are actually kinda good in this regard, being basically about liberalism decaying into fascism.
I've heard plenty of prequel haters say the story is boring because trade disputes leading into fascism is boring.
That's the banality of evil, yo. It is the inSIDIOUS way that fascists get into power. :unlimited-power:
