e.g. - I tried to pull up https://lemmy.world/c/news, assuming searching communities for "news" would bring it up, but it doesn't show in the community list, even though other local communities like "sportsnews" do. Does the search not work as expected currently?

In memmy specifically, tap search on the bottom bar, enter a search term, then tap search communities.

I’m using the TrstFlight version of memmy, the AppStore’s version might be a bit behind and have a bit different UX.

Something weird going on there. !news@lemmy.world does not appear in the lemmy search results (ios version), even though it has 12k subscribers and plenty of posts. Turkey_news for example does show up but does not even appear to have any posts.

Right, that's what I'm doing. But !news@lemmy.world isn't in the list when searching. And if I search for "!news" under communities, the list is empty, there's no result.

If you type news@lemmy.world that would take you directly there. Don’t use !
