Seems they have not denounced the genocide.
Sounds like denouncing to me.
does.not sound like they denounced the genocide of a population. it sounds like they are just unhappy with the way the war is going.
Dont let perfect come in the way of good. Regardless of moral highground, this war coming to an end by protests is a plus.
OP is using this to say Israelis don't support the genocide, but they overwhelmingly do. That's why there will be another war a few years down the road, Netanyahu or no. It's like appeasement didn't stop Hitler or how giving up Ukraine won't stop Putin. They will be back. Israel has been giving Palestinians hell for as long as it exists
I think it’s important to see. It would be the same as Americans protesting for replacement of Bush during the two front war in Iraq and Afghanistan, six months after 9/11. I attended a campus protest against Bush/Cheney in 2003, so I feel like I can relate. I support them for standing against Netanyahu.
They're denouncing Netanyahu and his government for not getting the hostages back.
Not the same as denouncing the genocide.
Hey, you didn't denounce the genocide in this post either! How dare you!
I denounce the genocide.
Imagine being mad at the people for trying throw out their fascist government.
So Netanyahu just waltzed on in? He wasn’t elected or anything?
I would imagine there's a correlation between those who are protesting and those who didn't vote for Netanyahu. But regardless, people can change their minds.
or you could just be under the age of 10 and be bombed in Gaza for a vote you were not even alive to take part in.
One side gets collectively punished. the other side wrings theirs hands together.
I don't know what you're getting at here. You could post this exact comment literally anywhere and it would be equally congruous. You could respond to someone's cooking advice with this. How is it relevant to what I said?
whether people voted for something or not does.not matter if there is collective punishment happening. One side is being collectively punished for being Hammas. the other side refuse to condemn the genocide they are perpetrating. They have the exact government they wanted.
Then why are they calling for Netanyahu’s resignation?
why are they not calling for an end to the genocide?
They’re calling for removal of the leader of the genocide, while condemning his actions. That’s how change is made.
I don't hear anything specific about the genocide. let's face it,.most of the country is more than happy to collectively punish and genocide the people of Gaza.
Maybe you can show me a large scale Israeli protest against the genocide
I protested Bush/Cheney’s war in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2003. We didn’t explicitly mention genocide, although that’s not far from what was happening. Does that not count, by your specific qualifications, as doing the right thing? C’mon man. Get over yourself.
so do you have any large scale anti genocide movements in Israel? because they certainly exist outside.
