What's the answer then to stopping drunk drivers killing people. Which happens daily. Telling them not to do it doesn't work, What's our next line of defense?

Disclaimer I don't know if that's true, I feel like I've read it elsewhere on Lemmy, though I never verified it.
The news story was regarding people getting insurance quotes, the group pf people the story was about have either owned a Tesla or were getting a new quote on a new/existing Tesla. It would make sense that people who drive like shit would want driver assist technology.
