Woke up early today and the first thought through my head was ... Hey, the Pixel 9 Fold Pro is going to be available today. So I jumped on the site and found it... backordered until mid October.

Anyone else able to get one on T-Mo or another service or are they backordered from Google themselves?

I understand there are reasons not to buy a phone from a carrier. But when they give you $500 off, it's a little hard to resist.

They're not making a $500 donation, they're just trading >$500 worth of value for something in return. What are the terms of this sale?

Do carriers still require a new two-year contract when you get a disocunted device from them?

They try, but nowadays you can have your new carrier buy you out!

That would be my guess. Basically extortion to lock you into their plans so they can just continue being shitty because they know you can't afford to get out.

You could also just buy a Pixel 9 and save literally a thousand dollars...
