Confirmed: my six year old iPhone gets the new version of iOS this month. Runs amazingly. Battery lasts all day still. No complaints.

Kernel source code released so you can support it indefinitely yourself?

Only Sony.

Google and Samsung do this too

But good luck maintaining the kernel by yourself.
