It's a great line, but it's also kind of tragic that these kind of soundbites are how we decide who is commander and chief of the armed forces.

Nixon lost the 1960 election to Kennedy in part due to how he looked during the first televised debate.

while I agree with you and would love to have policy be the main driver of people's decisions, elections are unfortunately more about likability than policy for most voters.
