That's actually not a bad idea. You could actually fix things. Physical things.

I have that issue sometimes even with older games or anything with 3D.

In KDE I hit META-F12 to disable to compositor and it usually does the trick.

Everything has to start somewhere.

I joined back in the early 2000s when they were still "Do no evil" Google.

Now they're "pure evil" Google. Like every other big tech company anyway.

I started in computer science in school with a passion, and now I hate that field with a passion.

I think you posted it twice in this community. Or I'm seeing things.

I just watched this tonight. I had seen some clips from a music video montage and it seemed kinda cool.

After watching it, I found it to be underwhelming. The artwork ans animation weren't that great after all. And the story was so bad lol.

Do not watch unless you have 45 min to waste.

Btw, sorry for not following your guidelines on my initial post. I wasn't done watching it and was going to comment as soon as it was over.

Sadly it's because they are filling for bankruptcy and will be closing down their physical stores. But their online stores will remain open.

Their clothes are of incredible quality and look great.

I'm using Kubuntu 24.04

I installed flatpak and am trying to perform updates but they keep failing. Mainly the downloads keep failing with "Failure when receiving data from the peer." And downloads are painfully slow.

Maybe the main servers are at full capacity? Can I configure mirrors maybe? Where can I find a list?

La guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec is a guild of video game studios from Québec. Check them out for a list of studios and games made in Québec.

You can also check out this list of video game companies established in Québec. Some are international companies, but many are local indy studios.

Hello linux@lemmy.world!

I've completely switched from dual boot to full Linux last year and I've been struggling to find the one tool that could replace the printer software that came with my Canon printer.

My printer came with an application that allows me to print border-less photos and apply fixes such as colour correction, remove red eyes, etc. So far I haven't found any application that allows me to print photos properly.

I'm using Kubuntu 24.04 and I tried using Gwenview to print my photos. While the dialog allows me to configure my printer to print on 4x6 border-less photo paper, it still prints with ~4mm borders.

I'm also asking myself, is this more of a KDE Plasma printing issue or an application printing issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I'm even considering using paid software at this point. Any solution is welcome.

Seriously. If this is your main instance, set up monthly donations. Even if it's just 1$/£/€ or whatever. Times 16k that's $16,000+/month. I donate to mine every month.

The fediverse is free because someone else is paying for it out of their own pocket. Not because they're collecting and selling your private data. So do your part. It's for the greater good and the freedom of the internet.

I don't understand you people in this thread.

Ever since the debate, people have been calling for Joe Biden to step down from the presidential race and give the place to someone else.

Now I read the comments and everyone is criticizing and accusing the Democrats of not knowing what they're doing? Are you for real? They're doing EXACTLY what people have been asking for. They're doing EXACTLY what needs to be done if they want to win.

Fucking hell you guys, make up your fucking mind.

Sincerely,

A Canadian with severe anxiety over your next presidential election.
