We could def use the help. There's probably a good amount of issues outside of help wanted, that wouldn't be too difficult. Feel free to comment in any of them and we could help you get started.

The new front end lemmy-ui-leptos is also in rust.

I believe all tooltips were made unselectable since they're supposed to be detail popups, and also should dissappear when your mouse leaves the area. I have no idea the use case for someone needing to manually copy and paste timestamps (and those aren't even formatted with rfc3339) into a document... at that point you might as well use one of the many API clients or curl and parse the data yourself.

Anyways this community isn't an issue tracker, they should open up an issue on lemmy-ui for something like this.

That's the way we'd prefer it, and it's already working in lemmy. But unfortunately that wasn't added until after full instance blocking, so most instances kept their blocklists.

We have instance community blocks working rn, and instance user blocks will be in the next release.

Of course I do think instances should fully block some servers, like the ultra right kiwi-farms and stormfront type ones... but unfortunately those communities set up on the big instances now anyway.

The lemmy back end has no way to filter front pages by specific instances, you'll need to open up an issue on its github there.

Also, did you use an llm to generate this?

Nelson Mandela was a communist revolutionary, and he even thanked the USSR and Cuba on US television for their material support in their struggle against apartheid.

From the 60s onward, the USSR supported Palestine (and even fought a secret war week-long war against Israel), and the ANC, while the US supported Israel and the white south african ruling minority.

I highly recommend reading Losurdo - western Marxism, you would learn a lot from that.

How are you getting upvoted? Pretty much every one of the US's vassal states in europe is supporting Israel with weaponry.

There's nothing we can do about server-to-server blocking, but I think over the long term, people will join servers that do less instance blocking, so that they can personally be in control of what they see.

And of course everyone not on restricted servers will still see your replies / takedowns, so it really only harms them. In a big way, responses are just as important to onlookers, than the one you're responding to.

Excellent work comrade, thanks for compiling these.

A few of these like settlers, I've recorded audiobooks for, and a few others ive recorded but the linked audiobooks are read by bots instead of a person. Might be good sometime to go through my audiobooks and see what could be added.

I also highly recommend adding Losurdo's liberalism, western marxism, and stalin, and roxanne-dunbar ortiz's an Indigenous People's History of the United States. (if they weren't already included).

Thx again!

Oddly enough, people are pretty adamant about demanding that we add a lot of addictive features into lemmy, just because they exist on reddit and on other big tech platforms. I usually push back, but I'm always downvoted to oblivion. I conciously wanted to avoid putting these addictive, psychologically harmful things into lemmy-ui.

So its great to see posts like this one. Social media doesn't have to be a negative experience, or addictive. The time we spend here should be short, and positive.

We're probably hitting close to the all-time high of unread notifications on github... I'm at 1752 rn, only watching lemmy projects.

It does feel like I've become the personal issue tracker for a few thousand people all the sudden. 99% of ppl are nice, but there's always someone demanding free labor to fix their pet issue, while offering to do none of the work themselves, and making ultimatums that they won't use your software until it gets added.

It's like okay then???? I'm not selling a product, so I don't care. I've essentially set up a free cookie stand and they're complaining at me that I don't have rainbow sprinkles.
