Click bait is clickbaity

that's so shitty, I'm sorry they stole your content. Well, if you ever decide to do one here I couldn't promise someone wouldn't do it, but it'd be much less likely

Exactly right. Most of the time when w movie was "bad" it depends on the audience. Especially critic ratings. If I see a new will farrell movie if I just looked at ratings it would say bad, because the critics reviewing it probably watch several movies a day and to them it was tripe and stupid. To me, getting off work exhausted, maybe I want that.

It's all in who it was made for. The trick is find specific critics who frequently match your style, then start seeing what else they suggest

You just hold the rev button as you walk up to an enemy. Then Marcus screams and the large body becomes many pieces

The only way to be a truly moral person on this planet is to not participate in society and go completely 100% off grid. Even then the Good Place did a great episode on that, and they're right, you're not really living then either. It's all just about what you're willing to put up with

Fair explanation, but don't get sucked in. I noticed the algo just subtly shifts enough where you don't notice it at first, and the comment sections are always so angry. Don't let it happen to you over there

All that anxiety went away when I learned my cities transit system. Busses and trains, I never worry about parking now. I go downtown frequently now without issue. Sporting events, concerts, it's not a concern for me. Just stop driving.

Horrible click bait title and image, downvoted.

May I ask honestly why Facebook? Every time I try it I just see rage bait and people I stopped caring about 20 years ago

No I promise this one is really good!

Imagine being both such a lame troll and having this much time on your hands

I didn't make it to pax this year (usually go every 2 years), but looking at the schedule the only thing I saw that was AAA was Borderlands 4 and... yeah meh. As with all AAA games, it's in the "Created by corporate committee" phase, which the original definitely didn't feel like. They were edgy and risky with the first one - something that now no committee would ever let pass.

has a pretty promotional copy tone but it's great to see so much urbanism can be done with the willpower

Yesterday, the Los Angeles City Council Planning and Land Use Management (PLUM) Committee approved a motion that could lay the foundation for ending harmful parking requirements for new development.

This could lead to developers right-sizing parking based on what makes sense for a specific project, instead of current one-size-fits-all city codes that apply to both the urban core and far-flung suburbs. Eliminating city parking requirements does not mean that all, or even most, new development will have no parking. It means that parking will be tailored to specific needs for each project.

Many Streetsblog readers know that parking mandates increase housing costs, including rents. Experts term these generally outdated excessive requirements a pseudoscience. Eliminating parking requirements is good for walkability, housing (quantity, affordability, and streamlining approvals), and climate.

I'm sure some of you have seen it, but for anyone in North America I think this is a must watch, you'll never see parking the same way again. What do you all think about it?

This video does a decent job trying to "define" urbanism, which is an umbrella term. When I try to think of how I define it, I get a lot of things I like that come to mind: transit, walkability, social spaces, but I have a hard time "defining" it. So, what does it mean to you?

This is a space to explore and share ideas about how we shape the towns and cities we live in. Here we'll be making a place where we can openly discuss urban planning for not only large cities but also our small towns - including but not limited to transit, green spaces, walkability, traffic, and anything related to living in an urban environment.

Many of you already know me, I'm Scrubbles, passionate about Urbanism and excited to see what we can do with this community.

I welcome all posts about Urbanism - videos about it, articles, open questions, whatever you may like!

Minor housekeeping, rules will come as they are needed, my big two are "Don't be a dick" - meaning discussion is welcome and arguments are fine, but I don't tolerate personal attacks, and keep posts on target. Obviously these will evolve with the community.

Hopefully this will be my only "announcement" style post, but felt like we should kick it off somewhere. Welcome!

Uptick in inflammatory posts (poptalk.scrubbles.tech)

Has anyone else noticed this, across the fediverse, Lemmy specifically. A lot of new users, but also a lot of first posts that are very inflammatory/rage baity.

Do we have another legit influx of new users? Or do we just have some bad actors trying to stir the pot? Or maybe I'm imagining it.

I agree with her, but I wish she would have pushed the driving aspect a bit more.
