You either have a God who sends child rapists to rape children or you have a God who simply watches it and says, ‘When you’re done, I’m going to punish you'. If I could stop a person from raping a child, I would. That’s the difference between me and your God.

This is a far more effective delivery of the same idea.

The end of my faith was realizing God’s either all powerful but not all good, or all good but not all powerful. It was 10 years ago and after the initial grief period, things have only gotten clearer and better since.

Epicurus’s old questions are yet unanswered. Is he willing to prevent evil, but not able? then is he impotent. Is he able, but not willing? then is he malevolent. Is he both able and willing? whence then is evil?

There's another option: he's willing and able, but has a good reason not to. What that reason is though, I haven't figured out yet.

Celibacy, ever wonder bout the impetus?

Seems like the compromise with the faction at Nicaea that didn't like being told that self castration out of devotion to God is heretical.

Really there needs to be an agreed upon standard of psychological and medical signs indicating psychopathy and sociopathy that can be used to disqualify people from positions of authority, those kinds are usually where abuses of power originate from.
